Great adventures on your doorstep

Wake up after a peaceful night to the sound of birds twittering and pine trees whistling. Look forward to a morning swim and a tranquil breakfast. Raise your head and feel the fresh mountain air before getting on your bike, pushing the canoe into the water or fastening your skis. Step out of the daily grind at Fagernes Camping. Feel the closeness to nature. Live right by the rural town, right between Eastern and Western Norway, along Strandefjorden in beautiful Valdres.

Hiking

Kviteberg cotter’s farm is a popular hiking destination for our guests. The last cotter left Kviteberg in 1936. Follow the cotters’ footsteps and witness the magnificent view, 1 km from the camping site. Valdres can offer some of the most rewarding hiking in Norway. Whether you are looking for hikes suitable for children, legendary hikes such as Besseggen or Bukkelægret, 2000-meter summits, or want to spend from one hour walking to a whole day, Valdres is your natural choice. Enjoy the fresh and clean air, stunning views and a healthy form of exercise – and best of all – it’s for free.
